This time of the year is when I get nostalgic and long for the Dasara festivities that were so much a part of my childhood.
Come October and my hometown Mysore is decked up with millions of lights to celebrate the world-famous Dasara – a ten-day festival culminating in the Dasara Procession/Parade.
The Parade starts from the historic Mysore Palace, one of the most visited places in India, and goes all the way through the heart of the majestic city.
Check out this picture taken from a drone camera – looks like a necklace – but it is the Mysore palace in full glory during Dasara…..
Oh how we used to look forward to those ten days when we were kids!
May the splendour of Mysore and Dasara grow and grow with every year – giving hope and joy to millions of people.
Presenting this Rangoli to Goddess Chamundeshwari of Chamundi Hills, Mysore.
